A Flowery Branch man was arrested and police are searching for a second suspect in connection to a Saturday night armed robbery at Wee Willy's convenience store in Gainesville.

Bucnell Marcel Lee, 22, was charged with one count each of aggravated assault, theft by taking and armed robbery, as well as two counts of obstruction of an officer.

The other suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, weighing about 150 pounds and 5-feet 10-inches tall.

Two robbers entered the Industrial Boulevard store around 10 p.m. wearing black hooded sweatshirts and masks, said Kevin Holbrook, public information officer for the Gainesville Police Department.

"After entering the store, the men brandished a gun and ordered the cashier to the ground," Holbrook said. "Both men then jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash."

Shortly after the incident, Lee ran from police in an area near the store, but was caught and arrested by Gainesville Police officers and Hall County sheriff's deputies, Holbrook said. He remains in the Hall County Jail.

The incident is still being investigated and anyone with information on the whereabouts of the at-large suspect is asked to contact the Gainesville Police Department at 770-534-5252.
