Gwinnett County police have arrested a man accused of raping a female acquaintance at the Mall of Georgia in Buford.

Jarvis Wiley, 20, of Lawrenceville is charged with one count of rape and is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County Jail. He is accused of assaulting a 21-year-old woman in a storage room at the mall.

Preliminary investigation showed that the suspect and victim are acquainted and work at separate kiosks in the mall. Police say the suspect asked the victim to assist him in the storage room. Once they were inside, the alleged assault occurred, police say.

The victim, a resident of Fayetteville who was not identified, immediately reported the incident to Mall of Georgia Security and Gwinnett police.

Gwinnett police say the investigation is ongoing.
