A burglar was caught by sheriff’s deputies after a brief chase Wednesday when he tried to burglarize a South Hall house while the resident was at home, authorities said.
Stefan Miller, 26, of Buford was charged with burglary and several traffic offenses following a pursuit on Williams Road, Hall County sheriff’s Col. Jeff Strickland said.
According to sheriff’s officials, a Tascosa Drive resident in the Woodland Park subdivision in South Hall called 911 to report a burglary in progress in the home. The caller hid in the garage during the 911 call and stayed on the phone until deputies arrived, Strickland said.
When a sheriff’s car pulled up, the burglar ran out of the back of the residence and fled in a Chevrolet pickup truck, Strickland said.
Miller was arrested soon after and remains in the Hall County jail.
