A 33-year-old pedestrian died after being struck Wednesday night by a vehicle on Athens Highway/Ga. 11 about a half-mile from Athens Street in Gainesville. Charles White of Lula was in the northbound right lane of the roadway when the accident happened at 9:14 p.m., according to the Georgia State Patrol. He was struck by a 2008 Honda Pilot driven by Clayton Shaw, 66, of Ellijay.
