If you’ve been wondering about something in your community, Ask The Times is your place to get answers. The following questions were submitted by a reader and answered through the efforts of our news staff.

With the upgrades to Interstate 85, will an exit for I-85 North be added for those traveling south on I-985?

No.

“We currently don’t have a project to construct this,” said Katie Strickland, district spokeswoman for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Why isn’t there a “Keep Moving” sign on the off ramp which transitions from Interstate 985 North to Friendship Road East? The far-right lane on Friendship at this juncture is only available to vehicles exiting I-985 North and turning right, and drivers who are not aware of this tend to stop for oncoming traffic, rather than transition smoothly and safely into the dedicated, additional lane.

Katie Strickland, district spokeswoman for the Georgia Department of Transportation, said “we will investigate and update signage, as appropriate.”
