Lazy Days Marina, located at 6700 Holiday Road in Buford, has been selected as the national headquarters for the Association of Marine Industries’ 2008 Marina Day.
According to the organization’s Web site, the goal of the seventh annual event is to educate politicians, civic leaders and the public about the role the marina industry plays in local communities.
There is no admission for the event, which will feature live music, games and food from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., but proceeds will be donated to Flotilla 29, Lake Lanier’s all-volunteer Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Also, flotilla members will be on hand Saturday to conduct safety checks on vessels on the water.
Special guests scheduled to appear include Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Hall County Commissioners Deborah Mack and Bobby Banks.
Aqualand Marina also is joining in the fun by holding a customer appreciation party from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday in front of the marina store. The party will offer free food, drinks and entertainment.
