Heading into the “Jeopardy!” college tournament, Dhruv Gaur said he was unsure how he would fare on Bible questions.

But it was his answer in Final Jeopardy about “The Latin Vulgate Bible” that gave him the win Wednesday, April 18, in his semifinal game. Gaur, a Lakeview Academy alum and Brown University student, will play in the final starting Thursday, April 19.

Gaur was in second place with $13,400 heading in to the final question, trailing a Worcester Polytechnic Institute student at $16,800.

The final question: “In Latin, Jesus says, I am “via et veritas et vita”– in English, these 3 words.”

Gaur was the only contestant to answer correctly with “way, truth (and) life.”

He ended up with $20,000, with his competitors falling to $7,000 and $6,799.
