Bruce Burch clamps down table cloths following a storm Saturday afternoon at Lake Lanier Olympic Park delayed the start of the second annual John Jarrard Foundation Lake Show. The show is put together by the John Jarrard Foundation, an organization honoring the life of the popular songwriter who died in 2001 after a battle with Type 1 diabetes.
Fans and volunteers worked diligently through wind and scattered showers Saturday to pull off the second annual John Jarrard Foundation Lake Show. Undaunted by rain showers, fans were treated to music from the Atlanta rock outfit Yacht Rock Revue; beer from the local Left Nut Brewery and food from a variety of regular Hall County food trucks like Mac The Cheese Truck, Island Café and Johnny’s BBQ. As skies cleared and the band began setting up for its set, the lakefront venue quickly filled with swimmers lounging on floats and countless boatloads of partiers. “We sold 80 tables,” said John Jarrard Foundation Chair Philip Wilheit Jr. “We could have squeezed more in, but having 80 keeps things even.”
