Joe McGoogan earns Clermont Town Council post

Joe McGoogan won Tuesday's special election to the Clermont Town Council, filling the unexpired term of Lynn Adams.

McGoogan defeated Jimmy McDonald, earning 71 percent of the vote.

Who is he: Joe McGoogan is married and has three children and three grandchildren, and he is retired from the poultry industry.

How he reacted: “I thank everybody who voted for me, and I look forward to working for the town … and hoping to make things better for everybody.”

On the issues: McGoogan has said he wants to do what is morally right and represent the views and wishes of the majority of the people.

What’s next: He will finish out former Councilwoman Lynn Adams’ term, which will be from Nov. 9 to Dec. 31, 2017.
