The sound of gunfire can be expected Monday in South Hall as the Netflix show “Ozark” films a scene in its third season.

The show, which stars Jason Bateman as a financial adviser involved in the drug business, has been using Lake Lanier as its backdrop since its first season, which aired in 2017. The show is set in the Missouri Ozarks.

The gunfire sounds can be expected between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Aug. 19 in the area of Gaines Ferry Road in South Hall, Josh Forshee, key assistant location manager for the show, said. The filming will take place on private property.

“We do have a scene on Monday involving simulated gunfire that we notified the nearby residents about,” Forshee said. “We will be entirely on private property. Our actors will be firing blanks under the supervision of our prop master.”

Forshee said there is no risk to the public or the crew and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office will be there during filming to help secure the filming area and “to prevent anyone from trying to enter the area to watch.”
