A boil water advisory issued for one subdivision’s residents in Hoschton following a water main break has been lifted.
On Monday evening, lightning struck a tree, traveled through its roots and blew out a main water line to the Deer Creek Farms subdivision.
The line was fixed early Tuesday morning, but the Jackson County Water and Sewerage Authority issued a boil water advisory for the subdivision through Wednesday.
Eric Klerk, the water authority’s manager, said this is done any time an incident occurs where the water system loses pressure.
By Wednesday afternoon, that advisory had been lifted, after water tests taken Tuesday morning came back clean.
“Everything was clean,” said Stacy Jenkins, the authority’s water services manager. “So the boil water notice is over."
