Holiday weekend continues with few accidents

The Fourth of July holiday continued to be calm for area law enforcement.

The Department of Natural Resources reported one person was charged with boating under the influence on Lake Lanier Sunday, while two boating accidents involving minor injuries also occurred.

As of Sunday evening, the Georgia State Patrol had reported 10 traffic deaths and 660 injuries in 2,452 crashes.

The GSP has predicted 18 fatalities and 999 injuries in 2,072 crashes over the four-day weekend, which ended at midnight.
