The Northeast Georgia History Center’s video documentary on the life of local golf legend Tommy Aaron has won the prestigious Pegasus Award of Excellence for 2008.

The Pegasus Awards represent the highest quality work in video production throughout the United States. Developed as a tribute to Aaron earlier this year on the 35th anniversary of his 1973 Masters victory, the video currently is on display at the History Center on Brenau Avenue.

The 23-minute video was produced by Morton Vardeman & Carlson, a Gainesville advertising agency. The Aaron video was recognized with a Pegasus Award of Excellence — the highest honor — in the Public Access category. It also was one of only 10 Best of Show finalists.
