Historians at the Northeast Georgia History Center used life in Civil War era North Georgia as the focus for this month’s Family Day on Sunday, with the hope that people might see the lesser-known history of Georgia’s Civil War history. According to Glen Kyle, executive director of the History Center, when most people people think about Georgia and the Civil War, the first thing that comes to mind is that Georgia was a part of the Confederacy. “Most people think that since we are in the South, we must have all been Confederates,” Kyle said.
