The Hall County Division of Family and Children Services is looking to expand and renovate its McEver Road office in Gainesville.
Plans to increase its size from 25,000 square feet to 36,245 square feet go before the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board at a Dec. 12 meeting. The planning board will make a recommendation on the rezoning for a larger building, while Gainesville City Council will have final say.

The expansion would take over part of the current parking lot, according to the agenda request.
McEver Extension Properties LLC is listed as the applicant in planning board documents.
Hall County interim DFCS Director Scott Wilbanks had no further details on the proposed expansion and renovations, and DFCS Regional Director Holly Campolong was out of the office when The Times called Tuesday seeking comment.
Hall County DFCS is located at 970 McEver Road.
