Hall County confirms year's 10th rabies case
Rabid skunk encountered dog Saturday in Moore-Mills Road area

Hall County officials Tuesday reported the 10th confirmed rabies case of the year. Contact between a dog and skunk occurred Saturday in the Moore-Mills Road area of East Hall.

The skunk was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur. Tuesday’s results confirmed the animal was rabid.

Anyone living in the Moore-Mills Road area and who sees an animal behaving abnormally, which can be a sign of rabies, is urged to contact the Gainesville-Hall County Animal Control Department at 770-531-6830.
