The skunk was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur. Tuesday’s results confirmed the animal was rabid.
Anyone living in the Moore-Mills Road area and who sees an animal behaving abnormally, which can be a sign of rabies, is urged to contact the Gainesville-Hall County Animal Control Department at 770-531-6830.
