The Hall County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Friday to rescind an earlier vote on the purchase of concrete blocks for construction of the new correctional institute.

County Administrator Randy Knighton said the blocks can be purchased from Home Depot at $4,500 to $5,000 less than from Quality Concrete Block.

The contract with Quality was never finalized, county officials said.

The board is also set to approve additional construction-related contracts for the correctional institute.

Knighton said the special meeting is needed so work schedules and construction timelines are not delayed.

The Board of Commissioners meets at 9 a.m. at the government center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.
