Authorities transported a man in serious condition to the hospital after a wreck on Dawsonville Highway at Ga. 306. The condition of Jerry Payne, 71, of Gainesville has stabilized, said Georgia State Patrol Trooper Jonathan Folendore. The call to GSP came around 1:30 p.m. and involved a tractor-trailer and a PT Cruiser driven by Payne.
