A Gillsville man is accused of breaking a man’s jaw earlier this month in Hall County, according to authorities.

Jason Dewayne Finley, 37, is charged with aggravated battery. He was booked Monday in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.

According to authorities, Finley struck the victim Oct. 2 “repeatedly in the face and head, causing the victim to receive a broken jaw and a fractured orbital socket.”

“The victim in this case had to seek medical attention for his injuries,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware wrote in a news release.

Ware said the incident took place in the 4200 block of Whiporwill Road in Hall County.

Investigators took out a warrant for Finley’s arrest on Friday, Ware said.

The Sheriff’s Office warrants division arrested Finley.

The incident is still under investigation, Ware said.
