Get scared and help injured deputys family

A local haunted house will be donating a portion of tonight’s proceeds to benefit a local deputy who was injured in an Aug. 11 standoff in Lula.

The Dungeon of Fear, operated by Keith Peek, is located at 528 Bradford St. in Gainesville, with the entrance on Main Street.

Tonight, $5 of every admission goes to the family of Hall County sheriff’s Deputy Joe Groover. While there is not usually a fee for parking, a $3 parking fee will be collected tonight for Groover and his family, and Brad’s Grill will run a concession stand for the family’s benefit, too.

General admission is $15. The haunted house is open 7 p.m.-midnight Thursday-Saturdays and 7-11 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 23, then open every day through Nov. 1. On Oct. 31, the haunted house is open 7 p.m.-1 a.m.
