If you've got a few book lovers on your holiday shopping list, then the Hall Book Exchange may have just the thing for you.
Over the next week, the book shop has arranged for three author visits. The first two will feature children's book writers.
On Saturday, Britt Menzies - author of "StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors" - will discuss and sign copies of her books from 1 to 3 p.m.
"There will also be a coloring contest. Kids can come by in advance, pick up a coloring sheet and bring their finished work with them on Saturday," said Myra Meade, book exchange owner. "The winner will get a custom painting of them as a StinkyKid."
The StinkyKids characters use their mistakes as opportunities to learn how to make the right choices. According to the author's website, they also live by the motto "Always be a leader of good."
On Tuesday, author Susan Rosson Spain and illustrator Elizabeth Dulemba will share their book "The Twelve Days of Christmas in Georgia."
"This is really a fun book. It presents Georgia history in an interesting format that appeals to kids ages 4 and up," Meade said. "It's also really popular among teachers."
Dahlonega's Gold Museum is one of the many stops visited by Jacob and Ava - the book's main characters.
Author Kathy Lee Sumner will wrap up the week's visits at 1 p.m. Dec. 11. She will share her debut novel, "Captiva Island."
Light refreshments will be provided during each of the visits at the book exchange, 1854 Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville.
The authors' books will also be available for purchase.
