W. Michael Stoy, Gainesville State College’s vice president for academic affairs, has been named one of two finalists for president at Middle Georgia College.
Stoy has served as Gainesville State’s vice president, dean of faculty and biology professor since 1999.
Also vying for the post is John G. Thornell, who has served as vice president for academic affairs and professor of history at North Carolina Wesleyan College since 2007.
One of the two men will replace Richard J. Federinko, who resigned from the post on Dec. 31.
The Georgia Board of Regents expects to name Federinko’s successor at a future meeting.
