Gainesville Police are looking for a suspect accused of taking a 3-year-old Thursday night from Longwood Park.

Law enforcement found Andy Aleman, 3, at a house on Catalina Drive in Gainesville around 10 p.m. Thursday. When police approached, Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the suspect fled.

The child was reported missing around 7 p.m. from Longwood Park on Pearl Nix Parkway.

“It’s believed that the perpetrator in the case is or was at one time the boyfriend of the mother,” Holbrook said.

The name of the suspect was not released.

Holbrook had no updates on the situation Friday evening.
