The Gainesville Police Department has charged a 25-year-old man from Cumming with possession of child pornography.

Investigators found explicit images and materials on Nicholas Sullivan’s computer, said Officer Kevin Holbrook, spokesman for the department.

Sullivan was arrested without incident and is in custody at the Hall County Detention Center, Holbrook said.

The charges stem from alleged activity in Gainesville, the officer said.

“He had just recently moved to Cumming,” Holbrook added. “He did live in Gainesville for some time.”

Other agencies are looking into the matter.

“When dealing with electronic crimes, it goes over many jurisdictions,” Holbrook said. “We do work with a number of local, state and federal agencies, especially on cases like this, so they are looking into it.”
