Gainesville police are still investigating a report of an armed robbery at Gainesville's Holiday Inn on the first morning of the New Year.

A spokesman for the city department says a man reported that two men entered his room around 6:40 a.m. and struck him with an unknown object before taking off with a laptop and television.

An employee at the Holiday Inn Lanier Centre could not comment Tuesday on the incident.

Investigators are still trying to determine the facts in the case and have not made an arrest or named possible suspects.
