The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board approved an annexation request Tuesday to build a new Family Dollar store on Atlanta Highway across the street from an existing one. Grant Gunter, an engineer with FD Group LLC, represented the company at the hearing. The new store would go in at 420 Atlanta Highway on a 1-acre property on the west side of the highway and south of Pearl Nix Parkway.
