A grand jury returned a more serious charge of attempted murder for a Gainesville man accused of shooting an acquaintance multiple times. Russell Lee Toler, 42, was charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault by a Hall County grand jury Tuesday. Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators previously accused Toler of shooting Torrance Siglar, an acquaintance, “three times in the chest” July 9 after an argument.
