Gainesville man arrested after pursuit in Dawson and Hall

A Gainesville man was arrested Sunday in connection with a pursuit that went from Dawson County into Hall County.

Jamee Hayes, 26, faces charges of fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, speeding and driving under the influence.

Just before 8 a.m. Sunday, a Georgia State Patrol trooper saw Hayes driving 85 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour speed zone traveling north on Ga. 400 in Dawson County. Hayes fled from the trooper when he was stopped.

Hayes was then followed north on Ga. 400, then onto Ga. 136, where the pursuit continued into Hall. The chase ended on Bark Camp Road, when the trooper was able to intervene.

No injuries were reported.
