Not all spelling bees are created equal. While many have children, the 24th annual Gainesville/Hall County Alliance for Literacy event features adults in teams of three. The bee, which raises money for the adult literacy program, will welcome back Gay Hammond for her 21st year of quizzing contestants at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brenau University’s Pearce Auditorium.
