Flowery Branch Police Chief Gerald Lanich is retiring today from the department he has led the past eight years. “I just recently turned 62 and I’ve been (in law enforcement) 38 years and (retirement) is just the next stage of my life that I’m excited about getting involved in,” he said. Lanich said he’s “looking forward to taking some time off and doing the things I like to do,” such as fishing, hunting and woodworking.
