A Flowery Branch man won $500,000 in the Georgia Lottery, becoming lucky on a $10 Jumbo Jumbo Bucks ticket, lottery officials said.

The man's identity won't be revealed until a Tuesday news conference at Discount Tobacco, 4347 Mundy Mill Road, Oakwood, said Tandi Reddick, media relations manager for the Georgia Lottery Corp.

Reddick said $500,000 is the instant game's top prize and the winnings must be taken in a lump sum, minus 31 percent that is deducted for taxes.

The store just gets publicity but no money for selling the ticket, Reddick said.

But "it's certainly always exciting for a retailer to be known as a lucky store," she said.
