A Flowery Branch man was shot and killed early Saturday morning at a Hoschton gas station, police said.
James Walls, 56, was found dead around 1 a.m. Saturday at the Circle K gas station at the intersection of Ga. 124 and Ga. 211.
Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco said a female witness reported to the police department around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
“She was with the guy that got shot,” Esco said. “We are in the process of interviewing her.”
Esco said police believe the incident started at the Waffle House near the gas station.
“They left from there and went over to the Circle K,” the chief said. “I guess while she was inside paying for the gas, the car that was at the Waffle House with them pulled up next to him at the gas pumps.”
Walls walked around to the white car with black rims, and Esco said someone “shot him from inside the car.”
Esco said he was unsure how the shooting was connected to the Waffle House.
“We looked at the video at the Waffle House,” he said. “We didn’t see an altercation there. We just know the same car was there parked beside him.”
