Flowery Branch approves zoning for fireworks sales
Ordinance comes after state law approving sales

Flowery Branch City Council members approved an ordinance Wednesday clarifying where certain fireworks sales establishments can hold business, but it wasn’t without some reluctance. The ordinance, written in response to a newly adopted state fireworks law going into effect July 1, allows for sales of consumer fireworks in the city’s light manufacturing and industrial zoning class. There are currently retail establishments under this zoning in Flowery Branch, including a Papa John’s Pizza restaurant on Atlanta Highway.
