Residents of a home in East Hall County reported it was on fire around 2:35 p.m. today.

Hall County firefighters arrived to find the mobile home in the 2700 block of Squires Road engulfed in flames. The residents were safe.

They reported hearing noises in the front of the home. When they went to investigate, they realized the house was on fire. The home was a total loss, Fire Chief David Kimbrell said.

In a separate incident fewer than 30 minutes earlier, firefighters were called to a grass fire in the 4300 block of Clarks Bridge Road near O. Smith Road.

The blaze was about 2 acres in size with three homes exposed at one point, Kimbrell said.

Traffic near the fire was shut down because of equipment and smoke in the area.

Fire investigators were dispatched to both locations to determine the causes.
