Hall County firefighters battled a blaze Monday afternoon involving three chicken houses and a shop on Cleveland Highway near Jess Helton Road.

Fire Chief David Kimbrell said several small grass fires also were involved.

The chicken houses were not currently in operation; they were last used about two years ago and were built in 1988.

One 40-foot-by-400-foot chicken house and a 30-foot-by-40-foot shop were full involved when firefighters arrived. Two other chicken houses also were exposed to fire.

White County and Habersham County fire officials also responded.

The investigation is still under way to determine the cause of the fire.
