Beginning next year, Newtown community residents will have access to even more locally grown produce than what currently grows in the Ruby Wilkins Community Garden. The Newtown Florist Club Inc. is seeking volunteers to help expand the garden and build an outdoor farmers market, which would allow individuals to sell locally grown produce one Saturday a month, beginning in the spring. Faye Bush, executive director of the Newtown Florist Club, said volunteers are needed beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 18 for a Community Service Day to help build the market.
