Oakwood is about to embark on another paving project with other area governments. The City Council voted Monday night to OK a $604,247 contract with Allied Paving Contractors of Pendergrass in the effort with Clermont, Flowery Branch and Braselton. The work, which should be completed by the end of August, involves milling, patching and “full-depth reclamation,” which involves pulverizing existing pavement and blending it with the base underneath, a recycling process of sorts.
