Extreme temperatures, drought only mildly affecting bees
Lack of rain could mean more honey
0713bees4
Bob Bradbury fills a jar with pure honey Thursday morning taken from bee hives at his Flowery Branch home.
In the next few weeks, Bob Bradbury is going to begin “robbing the hives.” Despite some extreme temperatures and most of the county being designated in extreme drought in the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, he expects to get a decent crop. He’ll collect honey from hives behind his Flowery Branch home and hives in Habersham County to turn around and sell at six different local farmers markets.
