The right hand southbound lane on Interstate 985 is scheduled to be closed nightly this week as part of the Exit 14 project.
The lane will close between 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, and 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, and between 7 p.m. Thursday and 5:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The closure will take place between Exit 16 in Oakwood and Exit 12 in Flowery Branch.
“This work is associated with placing rock on the new southbound entrance ramps of the Exit 14 interchange,” a DOT press release states.
The $34 million interchange project calls for a diamond interchange connecting Martin Road at Ga. 13 on the east side of I-985 to H.F. Reed Industrial Parkway at Thurmon Tanner Parkway on the west side. The project’s estimated completion is in the fall of 2019.
