Some customers of Jackson EMC have reported receiving emails supposedly from PG&E Energy, a California electric and gas utility, containing a link to view an invoice, but it actually contains computer malware. The malware could access banking information, usernames and passwords, according to a news release from Jackson, which serves Hall, Banks and Jackson counties, along with other areas to the south and east. “We’ve had a few reports of customers receiving emails like this and we’re concerned that it could spread,” Jackson EMC Director of Customer Service Brent Cochran said.
