Former Hall County Commissioner Bobby Banks has spent more than any candidate on his bid to become the next South Hall representative.

According to a report he filed with the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission this week, Banks has spent more than $11,600 of his $15,940 in campaign funds.

Banks, Todd Reed and Paul Wayne Godfrey all had filed their campaign contribution reports with the state by Wednesday.

They were the last candidates to file the reports, due at midnight Monday.

Banks’ report showed a $11,700 loan to his campaign; he has spent nearly $9,000 in mail to potential voters.

Reed’s report shows the South Hall builder has raised $7,500 and loaned his campaign
another $4,000.

Godfrey, the lone Democrat in the race, showed three contributions over $100. In total, Godfrey has raised $1,179, according to the report he filed with the state agency.

Leading the fundraising race is former Flowery Branch council member Kris Yardley, who raised $12,657 from seven contributors other than himself.

Mills’ brother-in-law, Emory West Dunahoo Jr., has raised $5,000 in his bid for the seat.

Sonny Sykes received $4,350 in campaign contributions from at least 14 contributors by the Oct. 24 cutoff.

Dominic Ottaviano, owner of two home health care businesses, reported $2,537 in expenditures, the bulk of which were loaned to his campaign. Ottaviano reported no cash on-hand as of the Oct. 24 reporting deadline.
