Joe Diaz, a Gainesville attorney, is a Hillary Clinton delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

He filed the following report by e-mail on Wednesday:

We had a wonderful day Tuesday at the convention. Hillary’s speech was inspiring to all of her delegates, and the convention hall seemed truly united. Wednesday morning, the Georgia Delegation had the honor of being addressed by President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalyn.

His speech was moving to all. I got to sit up front for the speech and at the table next to him for the breakfast. He really pumped up the crowd. Also Wednesday, I had the opportunity to cast my vote in writing for Hillary Clinton.

Wednesday afternoon, the Hillary delegation met with Senator Clinton before the convention in a private meeting where she released us at that time.

Tonight, we will conduct the roll call vote on the floor, and will hear from President Clinton and Sen. Joseph Biden.
