No one was injured in an East Ridge Road house fire in Gainesville on Thursday. The road was closed for more than two hours as Hall County firefighters tackled the fire.

Responding units discovered a basement fire in the 1200 block of East Ridge Road, Capt. Zachary Brackett wrote in an email. The 2,500-square-foot home had heavy smoke showing.

“All occupants are reported to be safely out of the structure and no injuries have been reported at this time,” Brackett wrote.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
