The Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals has recognized Merrianne Dyer, principal of Fair Street International Baccalaureate World School, as one of its nine Distinguished Principals for 2008.

Dyer said that principals must submit a packet of information by March to be considered for Georgia’s National Distinguished Principal. She said she believes the winner is selected in July.

Each state’s Distinguished Principal will be honored in Washington, D.C., in October, Dyer said.

Fair Street is at 695 Fair St. in the Gainesville city school system.
