State transportation officials have announced a public meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the intersection of Ga. 53 West and Elliott Family Parkway. The public information open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Dawson County Government Center, 25 Justice Way in Dawsonville. At an estimated cost of $2.7 million, the proposed improvements include the construction of a three-legged, one-lane roundabout, according to Georgia Department of Transportation spokesman Mark McKinnon.
