The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled two open house sessions to share the results of a study of the Ga. 365 and Ga. 400 corridors in Northeast Georgia.

The study, which is being conducted by the Arcadis consultant team, will identify needs and prioritize transportation projects along both roads. The aim is to address safety, congestion and improvement of access along both roads, as well as economic development potential, according to the DOT Web site.

"We have gathered statistical information on the study areas and sought the input of the community along both roadways. Now we’d like to share our findings with you and get your input again before we finalize the study," district engineer Russell McMurry said.

The Ga. 365 corridor study area begins where Interstate 985 ends at Ga. 369 and Jesse Jewell Parkway in Hall County and continues into Habersham County to Demorest-Mount Airy Road, just past U.S. 441.

The Ga. 400 corridor study area begins at Ga. 306 (Keith Bridge Road) in Forsyth County and
continues through Dawson County to Ga. 60 in Lumpkin County.

The meetings are held open house style, and those interested can drop in any time during the meeting hours. Displays will show graphic representations of the corridors and interactive stations will allow those attending the meetings to document travel patterns and identify issue areas along Ga. 400 and Ga. 365. People who conducted the study and representatives of the DOT will be on hand to answer questions and listen to those attending.

The open house focusing on Ga. 365 in Hall and Habersham counties will be held from 5-7 p.m. March 4 at Lula Elementary School, 6130 Chattahoochee St., Lula.

The open house focusing on Ga. 400 in Forsyth and Dawson counties will be held from 5-7 p.m. March 6 at Black’s Mill Elementary School, 1860 Dawson Forest Road, Dawsonville.
