DOT lane shift scheduled for today

The Georgia Department of Transportation is not planning to close any lanes this week, but a lane shift is scheduled for Thursday.

Weather permitting, crews will scoot over traffic on Atlanta Highway from Smokehouse BBQ to the Robson Crossing entrance past Chick-Fil-A. This includes the intersection of Mundy Mill and Atlanta Highway, DOT Communications Officer Teri Pope said

"Traffic will be moved closer to the Smokehouse and Chick-Fil-A side of the road and away from the Walgreens and Blackshear Place Baptist Church side of the road," she said.

Traffic will be shifted over to allow room for crews to work on the opposite side of the roadway. Access to all businesses and residents will be maintained although access may be on a gravel driveway extension.

The overall projected completion date is February 10, 2010 with a cost of more than $74 million.
