The Oakwood Planning Commission voted to recommending rezoning 13.4 acres, plus another 2 acres off McEver just north of Crawford Oaks, from highway business to planned residential development.
A surging residential area in Oakwood could be prime for more homes — up to 131 proposed off McEver Road between Old Flowery Branch Road and Crawford Oaks Drive. Atlanta-based Rosewood Active Adult Communities is proposing to either put up 105 one-story attached homes or 131 two-story attached townhomes. The company is pushing both housing plans “to give us the flexibility ...when we have completed our market analysis to determine which plan is better suited for this site,” the company’s rezoning application states.
