Dates and times changed for the Summer Food Service Program

Meal dates and times have changed for the Summer Food Service Program being hosted by the University of North Georgia.

The sites being served in Gainesville are the Walters Boys and Girls Club, Melrose Apartments on Davis Street and Veteran’s Community Outreach Center.

The Downey Street Boys and Girls Club opens for meals on July 1.

All sites will remain open through Aug. 2, with meal times set for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and 3-3:30 p.m.

Meals are provided free of charge to eligible children in the Gainesville area. Children who are part of households that receive food stamps or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals.
