Hall County firefighters put out a residential fire Friday in the 2800 block of Gillsville Highway in East Hall County.

When crews arrived, heavy smoke was showing from the residence. All occupants were outside and appeared to have escaped safely, according to Hall County Fire Services.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
